The story of Puerto Rican-American rapper Hamza Perez--a former drug dealer who abandons his street life to convert--New Muslim Cool follows Perez as he tries to start anew. Perez seeks to rejoin his religious community, rebuild his shattered family, and deliver his message of faith through hard-hitting hip-hop music. But when the FBI raids his mosque, Hamza must confront the realities of the post-9/11 world.
